I teach IB Biology HL and SL, with most of my work centred on the new syllabus, IA planning and Paper 2 data questions. I started tutoring while doing lab work in cell biology, so I tend to use real examples rather than long lectures. Students usually come to me when genetics, respiration or statistical testing starts to feel messy, and we work through it calmly with past-paper style practice and careful mark scheme wording.

Hi, I’m an IB Biology tutor who is happiest talking through cells, enzymes and all the odd little details students forget before mocks. I’ve tutored Diploma students for the past five years, mostly online, and I’m quite hands-on with IA ideas, graph choices and wording. My lessons are relaxed but focused, with plenty of diagrams, quick quizzes and exam-question walkthroughs, especially for students sitting Biology HL.

I have eight years’ experience teaching IB Biology, including support for HL students aiming for 6s and 7s. My background is in molecular bioscience, and I’m especially comfortable with genetics, gene expression and biotechnology. I normally begin by checking how a student explains a process in their own words, then tighten the language so their answers match IB mark schemes without sounding memorised.

I tutor IB Biology for students who want a clear, steady approach rather than rushed revision. My own research background is in ecology, so I enjoy the evolution and biodiversity units, but I also cover human physiology and molecular biology in detail. I often help with IA research questions, variable control and making data analysis less vague, especially in the final months before exams and retakes.

I’ve worked with IB Biology students since 2019, mainly those who are strong in class but lose marks on written explanations. I like using short prompts, model answers and little checks on command terms, because that is where many IB questions turn tricky. I also support IA drafts, particularly structure, biological rationale and making sure the conclusion actually answers the research question clearly.

My IB Biology tutoring grew out of supervising younger students in a university lab. I’m friendly but fairly direct: we find the weak topic, practise it, then test whether it holds up under exam wording. I’m particularly interested in neurobiology, membranes and cell signalling, and I’m used to helping students turn long revision notes into shorter answers that still earn marks under time pressure.
